Lisa was tired. Always tired. Her friend, Mark, was not. He was full of energy, writing a novel in his spare time. "How do you do it?" Lisa asked one day.
"It's like a car," Mark said, tapping his head. "Needs a full tank to go anywhere."
Lisa frowned. "But we both eat..."
"Sleep," Mark explained. "Sleep is fuel for your brain. Can't write a book on empty."
Lisa, intrigued, decided to try it. She wasn't writing a book, but maybe sleep was the fuel she was missing. She started going to bed earlier. She woke up with more ideas, more focus. Her work improved.
It wasn't the sleep itself, she realized. It was the commitment to filling her own tank, to prioritizing herself. And that made all the difference.
